Online learners taught e-safety
Posted: 7th July 2020Children using the internet to live their virtual lockdown life were given vital safety tips.
Pupils at Little Parndon Primary Academy turned to technology to continue learning when Coronavirus struck and forced schools to close to the majority.
To ensure children stayed safe and aware of the dangers of the internet, the school took part in a live assembly.
Working with Google and Parent Zone, pupils learnt how to be safe and confident online as part of the Be Internet Legend programme.
Teacher Sammie Goodey, PSHCE (personal, social, health and citizens education) lead, said: “The aim was to help children to gain the knowledge to be internet legends as there is so much online learning happening and with children being able to access the internet through many games and consoles.
“It is really important to help them to understands the risks and potential dangers to help to keep them safe when using the internet.
“It was a great, engaging session that was very child friendly.”
Robert Halfon, Harlow MP, took part in the live assembly, talking about the importance of internet safety.
