New computing suite
Posted: 9th October 2020A brand-new computing suite will give the education of young children in Harlow a boost.
A new computing suite has been installed at Little Parndon Primary Academy.
Until now, pupils from Little Parndon have been taking their computing lessons gathered around shared equipment in their classroom.
The dedicated suite with new desktop computers enables the school to offer the computing curriculum – and more – inhouse.
Headteacher Mark Evans said: “We are delighted with our new computers. We now have state-of-the-art technology for children to learn from.
“Our computing and e-safety lead Paige Wakelin has created a really exciting, engaging and challenging curriculum to run alongside our new facilities. I believe computing is such an important lesson for the children to learn, especially in this modern world. The facility will also enable us to enhance other subjects as pupils will be able to carry out research, produce PowerPoint presentations and other documents to support their learning. We will be able to personalise children’s learning even further in future. This is another way for us to engage the variety of learners we have in school.
“This is a massively vital tool for our school. It is a big development for us and takes us into the digital age.”
Every week, pupils will spend time in the computing suite learning the subject.
The room has been set up in a formerly underused classroom.
